Our First Home :)

Wait. Wait. Waiiiit......GO!

That seems to be the theme when buying a home. This is our first home so we didn't really now what to expect other than needing to provide a lot of paperwork and information. We decided to have just my boyfriend, J, put his name on the paperwork. So my part was mostly waiting and keeping him from freaking out. It felt like the process should be more standardized in that we could have been given the full list of paperwork / information needed and then been able to give them the information all at once. Instead, every week or so, he was asked for something new right up until the closing date (which was pushed back about a week from the original date).

After about 45 days of waiting, paper signing, and worrying, we finally had the keys to our First Home. Such a relief.......until we had to start buying things for it like new locks, paint, and other house supplies.

After several trips to the store, a few hundred dollar's later, we were on our way to start the moving process. This process started with me cleaning, removing hardware, I was able to start painting the boring white walls. each room twice except the kitchen and hallway which just need a sprucing up. The living room is now a tan that matches nicely with the carpet. Our bedroom is a light blue, the office and laundry room are both the same light green, and the spare room is a greige (gray-beige) color. The bathroom is still the same off-white because to be honest, I was over the whole painting process and I had no idea what color to pick.

Other than that, we didn't do much else to the house.
